"New Christians"

• But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. - 1 Corinthians 2:14 (NLT)

- Paul was explaining that those who aren’t in the Spirit won’t understand Spiritual language. Have you ever talked to someone who isn’t saved or isn’t mature enough yet to understand the Spirit, & they looked at you crazy as if your talking in a foreign language? It’s because those who are Spiritually DEAD, are unable to comprehend your words! Unless they have God’s wisdom planted inside of their hearts, anything you say will sound foolish to their ears.

• Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in the Christian life. I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready, for you are still controlled by your sinful nature. -1 Corinthians 3:1-3 (NLT)

-Paul was stating that those who are NEW in Christ, although they were no longer “NATURAL”, they were not “SPIRITUAL” either (fully controlled by the Holy Spirit) In fact, they still are controlled by the FALLEN flesh. Even though ALL believers have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of them. (Romans 8:9) They still battle the fallen “flesh” or what I like to call “old sin residue” lol (Romans 7:14-25) In other words, once you’ve given yourself to Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) You’ll go into Spiritual warfare & still will battle with your carnal desires as your trying to transform from the OLD you to the NEW you. As long as your not FULLY controlled by the Holy Spirit, then you won’t UNDERSTAND the things of the Spirit because you are still partially controlled by your SINFUL NATURE! (Romans 8:5, Galatians 5:16) For those who are still growing in the infant stage of being a Christian, you won’t fully receive the fullness of God’s Word only because you EAT the word with SMALL BITES! For example: If you had a baby, I’m sure your not gonna feed your baby a Big Mac from Mickey D’s lol. Are you? I hope not! Because it’s common sense that they won’t be able to SWALLOW it because it’s TOO MUCH to take in at ONCE! Once they GROW & MATURE more (1 Corinthians 13:11), then they’ll be able to handle & eat more SOLID food, right? That’s exactly how we are in the SPIRIT, just as it is in the NATURAL. Spiritual immaturity makes one unable to receive the RICHEST truths!

• You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right. Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong. -Hebrews 5:12-14 (NLT)

- If you still got some OLD SIN RESIDUE upon you, then you won’t RECOGNIZE right from wrong! (good & evil) Your brothers & sisters in Christ will be the ones to help guide you down the right path until your able to discern & distinguish right from wrong on your own by YOURSELF, until then, you need the help of those who are WISER than you are to teach you. It’s pretty much like how when a baby crawls, then tries to take baby steps, they need the help of there parents to walk with them until they’re able to walk & take foot steps on their OWN otherwise they’ll FALL.
**In closing, if you ever find yourself ministering to those who are new into the faith, realize that you gotta be patient with them because not everyone is at your level of maturity! If you really wanna reach out to them, do what Paul did & preach to everyone on THEIR level, that’s the ONLY way you’ll get them to understand!**
